Let’s Talk Medicaid and Medicare

Last week was the 61st anniversary of LBJ signing the bill that created the Medicaid and Medicare programs. These programs aren’t perfect but there is no denying that they have helped millions of Americans get access to the healthcare that they need, including many here in District 13. Yet last year, our current representative Brad Knott, voted to gut those programs by hundreds of billions of dollars in order to give $1 trillion dollars in tax cuts to the wealthiest of Americans. These cuts will lead to millions of Americans losing their healthcare, including 50,000 of them here in NC-13 all while he accepts thousands in campaign contributions from health care PACs.
